He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology and has studied philosophy and theology at the post-graduate level. Patrick has over twenty years of experience teaching Psychology at the college level. He is currently:

- A Certified Fitness Trainer (CFT) with the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA).

Most of these transforming activities took place in California at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church (Saratoga), The Guild for Psychological Studies (San Francisco), Mercy Retreat Center (Burlingame), and the New Camoldese Benedictine Hermitage (Big Sur), 1990-2008.
